Achille Luciano Mauzan — Master of Two Continents


Achille Luciano Mauzan (1883–1952) was one of the most remarkable commercial artists of the early twentieth century, equally celebrated in Europe and South America. Born in Gap in the French Alps, he trained in Lyon before establishing himself in Turin, where he became one of the most sought-after poster artists in Italy. His style — characterised by beautifully observed human figures, rich colour, and an instinctive understanding of how to seduce a viewer at a glance — placed him in the first rank of European graphic artists alongside contemporaries such as Leonetto Cappiello and Marcello Dudovich.
