The brindisi — the Italian toast — is one of the great social rituals of Mediterranean life, and Carpano, as the house that invented vermouth in Turin in 1786, has always been at its centre. In this poster, created by Armando Testa before 1959, the historic toast becomes a graphic event: bold, joyful, and designed with the economy of means that marks Testa at his finest.
