Vintage Film Poster, Cine Camera Pathé Baby — Marcello Dudovich, 1923

This elegant 1923 advertising poster by Marcello Dudovich was created for the Pathé Baby — the revolutionary compact home cine camera launched by the French company Pathé Frères in 1922, which for the first time brought the magic of moving pictures within reach of ordinary households.

Marcello Dudovich (1878–1962) brought his characteristic sophistication to this commission, creating an image that captures both the novelty and the glamour of home cinema in the early 1920s. The Pathé Baby was a genuine cultural phenomenon — compact, relatively affordable and immensely fashionable — and its advertising needed to reflect both its technical modernity and its social cachet. Dudovich delivered exactly that.
