Italian Sales Haul and After Christmas Diet Talk.

Happy New Year to you all!

Well, I don't know about you but I have been really busy after Christmas.

In Italy where I live, the sales have begun and I have been off to see what there is and I have bought a couple of things. I haven't finished with my Italian sales haul ambitions and will be going back at regular intervals.

I find though that you can get the best bargains here, if you go later rather than earlier with the bigger discounts being made towards the end when shops are trying to get rid and clear space for the new spring and summer stock!

Sales here have a fixed time to run so shops will be putting out those bargains for a good couple of months!

Aside from my Italian sales shopping, I have been addicted to delicious panettone cake since before Christmas so now it's time to stop and think about my after Christmas diet.

I don't believe in a quick solution there isn't really a get thin fast solution that will last a long time especially if you are over 50. It takes a lot of self motivation. That will to do it, as well as patience and movement.

That's right, movement. You need to move your body and exercise in order to lose weight and get in shape. I am lucky because at the moment I have to walk half a kilometre to reach my car and I am revamping my garden which is burning off a ton of calories, but for those of you who are looking for a Christmas weight loss solution or a post Christmas diet, think about taking a walk in the afternoon or evening or start some gentle exercises.

In the past I have often found a good exercise solution on a dvd and there are apps that you can download onto your phone.

I regularly do a workout with my son (22 at the time of writing) which he found on his phone. It is very good and very effective.

Please though, if you are not fit and you are over 40, check with a medical professional that you are good to go and remember the golden rule; build up gradually!

The other rules that work for me are, no alcohol and very little or no sugar. Sounds grim? It's your mindset. You need to get more pleasure in feeling healthy for the long term than a 5 minute high after a chocolate biscuit!
